On your R3's the bit that holds your toe stop in place! Sometimes the thread can get stripped if the toe stop is put in squinty or you jump around on your toe stops a lot and wear them out but fear not you can get a replacement part! Unscrew the plate from the boot and prise old part out with a flat-head screwdriver then press the new one in, put plate back on boot and that's it done!
